Week seven has been completed. This has been one of the most exciting and competitive weeks so far this season! We entered week 7 with two undefeated teams, Pink-Eye from the Posh Division and Beard to Belt Buckle from the Baby Division. Both of these teams suffered their first defeat during week 7. Pink-Eye lost a very tight game against The Pie-Rats in their second overtime match this season. Beard to Belt Buckle faced Dead can Dance in the week seven game of the week. Dead can Dance was able to hold the normally dominate Chaos Dwarfs scoreless and notched a 2-0 victory keeping their play-off hopes alive and avenging their week 3 overtime loss. Beard was able to out injure the Dead 3 to 2 but suffered the only serious injury, losing one of their two 4 agi sure hands hobgoblins “Kung Fu Wisp” for this match and the next.
Death by Snu-Snu recorded their first victory of the season, upsetting the division leading Necro Muppet Show 2-1 in Overtime. This sets up a critical week 8 match in the Scary division between the 4-3 NecroMuppets and the 3-4 D-Orcs. In all their were an amazing 4 overtime games during week 7 and in all four of these matches the team with the superior record was defeated!
The match between In Your Face Lyons and GWAR was one for the record books. The Wood Elves marched to an easy 3-0 victory and their star catcher Uliernso Naocyuf scored three more touchdowns bringing is season total to 18. If he can survive the season he will have broken Good Luck Bear’s record total of 15 TDs. GWAR moved closer to history themselves in this match. With the casualty he recorded in this match their dangerous Minotaur Ordorous Urungus tied Abraham Lincoln’s record Casualty total of 12.
There were also some high profile deaths in week 7. Flea Bit’en lost Dirt n Lap, an unskilled linerat. In Your Face Lyons lost a wrestle line elf, Yuric Noonsafel against the always dangerous GWAR. Under Six Feet suffered 6 casualties against Chaos Theory, including the death of Dustin Hoffman, a Mighty Blow/Guard blocker who was leading the league in interceptions! The biggest death of the week was that of Consequence the Tackle/Mighty Blow/Frenzy casualty machine Wight from Pink-Eye.
The highlight game of the week for week 8 will be the match between Under Six Feet and The Dark Side of the Moon of Endor for control of the Sporty Division. The last match between these two teams was an overtime thriller, lets hope this one is just as exciting!
