Tim repeated while there was no skill cap. First season - 2 block slots, 2nd season - all but 1 of 15 players block dodge.  While under the skill cap, there were no amazon teams that I remember or saw in the prior team rosters.
Amazon's become competitive once the skill cap goes away.  Under a skill cap, amazon's are, at best, tier 2 due to lack of armor and medium movement.

Not every team is a tier 1 team.  That doesn't make Amazon's unplayable with a skill cap.  Even with a skill cap 8 pieces with Block and Dodge would be difficult to deal with, even for Dwarves.

I'm not sure why the skill cap was brought up.  It wasn't like there was a rush of Dwarf, Norse, or Amazon teams at the beginning of the season (where it would be most beneficial for them to start).

Now boys. I'm restarting with Amazons because it was either them or Slann. I wanted to run the prevent defense and I think they can do it the best. I think 6-8 block on Amazons is MORE than enough already. It's all the dodge to set up a cage anywhere that is appealing to me!

Nah.. no restarts.

It was a very intense game... lots of failures on both of our parts for dice rolling.  It seemed like neither one of us wanted to hang onto the ball, and we pretty much ran prevent defense against each other both ways.  The first half DEFINITELY belonged to Jerod... he ran that pitch for 8 turns.
Then we took a break at halftime to get some grubbage.
The second half... was my half.  I was basically knocking a piece out every turn.

I did kill a Block/Dodge blizter.. which he used one of his 3 apoths to turn it into a Move Bust.. aka a "Cut."  (disclaimer: i dont know if he cut the guy or not).  This guy actually hurt himself falling down.  YAY!

I ended up failing to score on turn 8 of the second half to win.. rolled a 1 to hand the ball off, rerolled into a 2... FAIL!

ON TO OVERTIME!!

Jerod won the toss, elected to receive.  On the first turn, he was setting up a box, and needed to dodge ONE person away to get to the last corner, and fell down dodging (tackle ftw!) which opened up an alley for me to swoop in and smack his ball carrier in the face. (which was successful)

I ended up picking up the ball, and slowly trotting down the sideline. surrounding my ball carrier with standfirm and/or guard peices... and Jerod got baited into surrounding them... which allowed me to just walk out and score.

All in all.. probably the best game of Blood Bowl I've ever played.  It was intesnse from turn 1 of the first half, all the way to the end of overtime (which ended on turn6 in OT).

Thanks to Jerod for a phenom game!

End Result:
Under Six Feet - 2 TD's, 0 Injuries (i know, right?)
Bridesmaids of CHG - 1 TD, 1 Injury (SI'd a guard lineman of mine)

I failed to 'Go For It' about 6 times... it was brutal.  I dont think I made ONE dodge reroll (including my 4AG guy) the entire game.
I picked up a MOVE Boost on my Deathroller (go figure).  I would have taken doubles skills.. but I rolled 6 + 4... BOO!

EDIT: ..Afterthough.. I HATE WRESTLE!

Ah, wrestle.  Thank Mr. Groom for teaching me to love that skill.  I got one on a Gutter Runner in the game last night.  Can't wait to try it out.

It was a great game to come back into the league to! Not holding onto a reroll for overtime was brutal for me as well as Stand Firm ftw for him. I didn't even think to look at the peice because it hadn't done anything all game.

Chris has a good summary of how it went down. I was forced to use my wizard on turn 8 of the second half to push it to overtime. My inducements were great.

I was super proud of how the team works and I'm confident that the defense will be obsolutely crushing. Now, I just have to figure out how to set up an offense!

I can't say enough good things about this game. We even had Sparti's for halftime!
