What does everyone play? The topic says it all. I was curious about the player base we have for Warmachine/Hordes. I'll start things off, I guess.
I play both games, and have a fairly large collection of models and factions. In Warmachine I favor Cygnar, but have Khador, Menoth, and Mercenaries. About half of these models are fully painted.
In Hordes I favor Trollbloods, but have Legion of Everblight and Circle of Orboros. About 3/4 of these models are fully painted.
What I like about Warmachine and Hordes:
Hands down these two games are the best miniatures rules I have ever played with. I have been playing miniatures games for almost 21 years now, and honestly these games are really rewarding.
Aggressive play is encouraged.
Army building is intuitive and simple. All you need is a calculator.
Army construction does not tie you to one tactic.
Units and Warlocks/Warcasters have a great deal of different possible interactions.
The game scales very well, from low points games to high points games.
The basic rules are included in every faction box, and every faction box is a viable force of around 250 to 300 points.
It has a very low initial cost compared to most miniatures games.
It has giant steampowered robots and huge dire trolls.
Dire Trolls heal by eating people.
Cryx Warcasters gain power through harvesting the souls of their enemies.
Cygnar Prevails.
Khador Conquers.
Menoth Abides.
End Of Message.
Damn you for getting me fired up about this game again, Leupold....your Khador Dregs will rue the day!
