We Need More Board Gamers!!!The 'official' Wednesday board game demos are fine, but I'd like to see a set time (preferably on weekends, though a weeknight would be okay, I suppose) when those of us who like to play board games and card games could bring in our favorites and share them with one another. I'm talking games like Acquire, Diplomacy, Civilization, Puerto Rico, Caracarsonne, Kill Dr. Lucky, Blockus, Fluxx, Munchkin, etc. Old 'family favorites' like Monopoly, Clue, and Risk should also be welcome.
I know we are welcome to do that at any time at CHG, but I think a regularly scheduled board game session would make it easier to get some games going. This would be especially nice for those games that really need four players or more to make them interesting.
I mean, I enjoy Pirates and MtG and all that, but my real love is for board and card games.
How about it? Am I the only one interested in this?

It's a thougt we can kick around. Board games are very important to the store & we're planning on running more events on weekends. Like...

Having just recently found Critical Hit - and being an avid board gamer, I welcome any board games that make an appearance at the table. I have been there the last two Wednesdays, had a great time (always nice meeting new gamers), and look forward to more Wednesdays.
I plan on being there Sunday around 1:00 (3-30-0 , I'd be happy to play a game of whatever someone has in mind... and I'd be happy to bring one of my own games to a table. From talking to a few of you, I have some games that you have heard of... but never played (Colloseum, Taj Mahal, Princes of Florence, etc). On the same end, I love learning about new games that I might want to add to my own collection.
Thanks to everyone that has been nice enough to let me sit down and join their game - hope to make it a regular thing! Being from Cedar Rapids, I can't be there as often as I would like. But if someone asks, and I have the time open, I will gladly come on down and plop some chits on the table.

I've been out recovering from surgery, but I should be able to get back to coming on Wednesday nights soon, and possibly even some Sunday afternoons.
I made it by the store this week to pick up my shiny new copy of AIRSHIPS, so you can be sure I'll be dragging that along and looking for some players!
