Hey, we have a tournament planned for the 12th, and I thought I'd let you know what I am planning. Ideally I'd like 8 people to play. Less will be ok, more would be awesome.
I'd like to hear your idea on scenarios for the tournament. Games will be played on 4' tables with about 5 to 6 pieces of terrain. Rounds will be timed.
I am planning on rewarding best overall, best Warmachine Army, and best Hordes Army. If we have a successful turn out and things run smoothly, I will submit an application for Press Ganger so that we can run supported tournaments more often.

Here are some things you might like to know about the upcoming Tournament.
Army size: 500 points. Please bring a legible list of your army for me to verify. Nothing fancy, it just needs to be legible.
Steamroller-esque rules: You are permitted to bring two 500 point army lists. At any point between games you may switch to your second list. Once you switch, you may not switch back.
Turns and Time Limits: Each game will be 1 hour and 30 minutes long. At the one hour, ten minute mark, the current player has 10 minutes to complete their turn. The other player then has 10 minutes to take a last turn. Once the ten minute mark has been reached, complete the current action and end your turn. An action would include rolling to hit and rolling for damage and applying any special effects.
Terrain: You don't need to bring any terrain. Terrain will be provided for the players by the store and by myself. Terrain will be set up prior to the first matches and is to remain where it is placed. Do not move terrain during games. This rule is in place to make the game go faster. Once you have an opponent and a table, you only need to roll for deployment zone as normal.
Scenario: In the interest of making the tournament run smoothly, matches will be decided in the following manner. Each match will proceed until the death of the first Warcaster/Warlock. At that time, the player with the highest total victory points is the winner. If both players have an equal number of victory points, the player that killed the Warcaster/Warlock will be the winner. In the unlikely, but possible, event that BOTH Warcasters/Warlocks are killed as a result of the same attack, the game will be ruled a draw. Winners of games which do not end in the death of a Warcaster/Warlock will be determined by the highest victory point total. In the case of a tie in victory points in these games, the match will be ruled a draw.
Scoring: Players will earn 5 points for a win, 2 points for a Draw, and 1 point for a loss. At the end of the tournament, the player with the highest point total will be the winner of the tournament. Other prizes may be awarded for sportsmanship, painting, most successful assassinations, and for factions.
I am really looking forward to this and I hope you guys are too. Tournaments like this have been a lot of fun in the past.

I'd like to get an idea of how many players are planning on playing in the tournament. 8 is the goal, more would be awesome. I'd like to get an idea of the number as early as possible as I may have to manufacture more terrain and hijack more table space if needed.
Please respond to this thread if you are considering playing. If your plans change and you can't attend that is ok. I just need an idea of the number of players I'll be dealing with.

The Warmachine/Hordes Tournament was a success. We had 6 players, three rounds, and a lot of fun. For those that missed out, here is where the players all ended up.
Chris (Khador) 3-0
Harrison (Trollbloods) 2-1
Bill (Cryx) 1-2
Drew (Cygnar) 1-2
Jason (Skorne) 0-3
Steve (Trollbloods) 2-1
Chris, Harrison, and Bill all got cool coins for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, while Drew and Jason took home store credit to rebuild their forces for future tournaments.
I really wanted to thank everyone who played. I hope everyone had fun, learned some new tricks, and got to see all the different factions in action. I also wanted to thank CHG for hosting us and providing us with PP Prize support.
I want to run a Legends Tournament in the future, and we have support prizes for that format. I need to do some research on the scenarios. I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in a Battle Box Tournament with 30 minute rounds. Any other tournament style suggestions are welcome.
Bill had suggested possibly starting a Warmachine Campaign, and I think that would be awesome. Warmachine has great campaign rules, and you can play in teams.
Thanks again,
