Tracking statisticsThe debate about overtime made me think of something. I'd like to volunteer to create a database that tracks some stats for the league.
I'd like to track:
Overtime
Wins/Losses/Draws in overtime
Winners in overtime who received
Winners in overtime who kicked off
Number of times that regular season games went to overtime
Number of times that playoff games went to overtime
Regulation
Changes in weather per game
number of times the ball was kicked off
Number of times lower fan factor team got Fame
Number of times higher fan factor team got Fame
Number of times higher fan factor team got Double Fame
I think it would be very interesting to compile some information on these subjects. Most of the info is already compiled on the sheets. The only additional info would be who kicked off in overtime and how many times the kick off chart was used.

The sheets dont have a place that lists if a game went into OT. People sometimes write it down, but not always. The overtime issue would be interesting to look at.

to what purpose?

The overtime statistics might be useful for determining if it is neccisarry or not.

Do the numbers really matter in this? If enough of the coaches object to the no OT, should it really be something we change?

No, it shouldnt. If there is a fairly even split it might not be a bad idea to table it and then get some numbers to look at it later.

i really like the idea of it being optional, like the touch move, dice cup rules in NJCBBL.

of course, then, which is default, with or without overtime in the event of disagreement - Elf player 'i want ot', Dwarf player 'I don't'....

Yeah, if we have it as an optional rule there needs to be a default. To me probably the best method for now is going to be there is overtime unless both players agree not to have it. I dont see any problem with people deciding either ahead of tiem or when OT comes up. Ahead of time would be for the best, but at least then if you both dont want it and you forgot to talk about it you cold decided later on. This is my opinion anyhow.

Agreed. Sounds good...we should update the sheet that lists the pregame/postgame card to discuss that -
