Three Die Block Podcast Review5 out of 5 Light Cycles
http://pseudoradio.blogspot.com/
Three Die Block is a podcast that focuses on our favorite game...Bloodbowl! Hosted by the talented Chance and John from Heroclix fame.
The show is sectioned into 3 parts; much like roller derby. The first part takes a critical look at one of the many teams available to play. The second highlights a topic of their choice. Finally, they review the standings of the Hawkeye Gaming Club League and the Critical Hit Games League.
I almost had a heart attack when John suggested in the 1st section that you should start with only one orc blitzer. Right, must remember, these are only opinions not facts! However, he had solid reasons behind his choices that I could understand. Chance moderated the nuttiness with his feelings on the decision and made me feel more inclined to listen because of their balancing thought processes.
The sencond section was informative if somewhat bland for folks that are familiar with the house rules. Now if you're a newly exposed to the rules it would be super informative and interesting. For the most part they agree on all the changes, we are a generation of haters and want more conflict!
The final section was riddled with chuckle moments. At one point they almost gave themselves the nicknames, Always Hungry and Really Stupid. I'm not saying that those monikers should stick but it was funny! It was cool to hear how impassioned they were about the standings but it did go on too long. I think this section is important to placate their fan base but it's got to be shortened! It was entertaining, I hope that becomes less of an influence in the show. I can't wait when they talk about this weeks game between Kaufmann and Harrison.
The Hit List-
As a final sign off the dynamic duo each choose one player in the Hawkeye League as someone to be targeted by the other coaches. This week it was the obvious league leading touchdown scorer and casuality leader. I'm looking forward to the lesser know villiany in the league!
Final Thoughts-
Chance & John (or later called Paully) have a playful banter and mesh well together. While John supplies the bulk of the talking Chance holds his own with color commentary and opinions. You can tell that they guinuinly like each other and respect each other's views. The pair did a great job of explaining the rules and how they interact.
The show weighs in at an hour 22. That's too long for most but it kept me smiling and nodding (or strick disapproving shakes!) the whole time. The sign off to the show is delightfully nerdy...I wish you open stars. Thanks guys!
-Hate my opinion? Post after this one!

Thanks for taking the time to listen and post this review!
We do want to tighten up the show and hopefully make future Part II sections (where the house rules were this time) more interesting.
We can certainly make the standings quicker but we do love to dig into individual games.
Also, I am taking notes..."should fight with Pauly more..." Got it!

Three things.
1. Thanks for the kick ass review. The money is in the mail.
2. Things do need to be tightened up...then I remember who is talking...and really who can reign in Chance and I...we are windbags...or some kind of bags with a d.
3. I think things may have been out of order. We had a slight problem in post and things got a bit jumbled.
3. I can't count.
3. Die Block
3. Anyone want to guest host. Looks like I will need one for a bulk of July!

Make sure you talk about the best formation in all of Blood Bowl:
"The Box"
also called "the cage". Blood Bowl has been picking up in popularity all over the place. The last Warhammer Fantasy podcast that I listened to (Podhammer) was basically about how everyone in their gaming group was getting into Blood Bowl and how much they loved it.
Another suggestion would be a discussion of tactics for each team, you could spend many sessions breaking down the best tactics for bashy teams and "ag" teams and the process of developing them.
Good job guys! I'l have to check this out.
