Table SizeI was reading through the latest No Quarter and in the Nationals section I noticed that 1000 point games were being played on 4X4 tables. That made me think about the table sizes we use now. Previously, I was under the impression that games of 750 or higher used larger playing areas. Apparently they don't.
With that in mind, making 4X4 table sections is not a bad Idea. I am going to try to get some hardboard in 2X4 sheets to mount some foam on. Going this route allows for trenches, rivers, craters, and other interesting terrain features. Elevation is also going to be a bit easier to replicate too.
Any suggestions on themes? I like the idea of a water intensive one, with numerous islands in the midst of deep and shallow water areas.
