strange gameIn response to Thafner's question: About mid-game Jason destroyed both my regiment of flagellants, and through extension my big unit of inner circle knights with two characters, in one round of combat. He had smartly moved his bats around behind my knights so that when they fled they'd automatically die. I thought for sure that was game. The one consolation was that I'd killed one of his vampires during the fighting. The next turn though, my greatswords with a priest charged the front of one of his ghoul units, and the remaining warrior priest killed his general that was in the unit (the odds of it happening probably being less than 25% for him to win in one round.) Meanwhile, a unit of ghouls that had overrun got flank charged by my tank, which I risked rolling for the extra steam point for and didn't roll a 6 (a 6 would have meant no charge and take a wound!) The tank wiped out the unit with enough overkill to kill the vampire inside as well. At this point his general was dead, he had no characters left, and three crumble checks later all that was left was three wights being charged by a stank in the last turn. It was a really fun game and I only felt bad the result didn't more closely reflect just what a close and well fought battle it was.
