so doing a 2 on one battle...how does the troop setup go? do both people on the team need to follow the standard troop listings or do we split them? this will change my list significantly depending on the answers.

Both people follow the standard troop listing in their books.

Basically, if you're talking mighty empires - you would get your full 2000 points (lords included0 and your two opponents would each get 1000 points - same set up and turns and stuff apply.
