Small Apoc game on Sat Jan 31st2 friends and I are looking to play a small apoc game Saturday and are in need of a 4th player. We are thinking 3,000 pts. a side, so 1,500 pts. a player and we would have randomized teams. Thinking about starting around noon or 1. So far we have a Daemons army, a Space Marine army and a Chaos Space Marine army. You can field any formation, and Special Characters are also welcome (it is apocalypse after all) and each side will get a stratagem for each player. You can either PM me or reply to the thread.

How did it go?

Didn't end up happening.

That's too bad. Maybe we should try to get one set up for the store. I think a game with a cool bridge between the tables would be awesome.

It would be great if we could do something to increase interest in 40k in the area.

Then let's do it.
First we need a date that can accommodate the most people.
Saturdays for the store are pretty busy, it is Heroclix day. Admittedly there wouldn't be a table space issue, just one of having a LOT of gamers there at the same time.
I vote for a Sunday game of no longer than 6 hours. We could take a hour break for lunch, with a half hour for set up and tear down.
I think we shouldn't plan what we are all bringing. I think we should follow the spirit of the Apocalypse rules and just bring what you want. We can assign players after we know how many total points will be played. This might make some strange bedfellows, but it will definitely make the game less competitive and more fun (and hopefully funny!).
Please comment!

Sure, how about a new thread for this idea?
I'd be up for this.
I think I can only field up to 2000 points in Marines and Tyranids, but I'd like to play my Deathwing army which stands at 1500 currently.
So much painting to do....

I've never played with the apocolypse rules. Are they much different?

it's pretty simple. You just bring what you want to play with. No force organization chart is used. Just bring what you want. You need to calculate the points for your stuff as usual.
The games are objective based, but with a more narrative feel because of the scale.

I know what you mean about Heroclix on Saturdays. I was there playing against Dollabill last weekend, and there were probably 20 people there just for that.

I don't know if this helps or not, but last Saturday was a special tournament. The turnout was surprisingly high. Lately, we've been averaging 6-8 people.
