Well Pete and I played to a draw last night. It was an interesting game full of some bad luck on both sides. I used 50g in the match. I am not sure how much Pete used, I just remember it was most of it.
We did have one question through about one of the weapons I have. The weeping blade does D3 wounds after wounding. When being used against a unit do you only get the number of times the blade hit or do you get all the wounds? I will be honest I have always played it as the wounds carry over as it was described in the old system as the character is just that cool he is wading in doing massive damage with his magic weapon. So in effect the character attacks the unit and can do more damage than number of hits he does.
Pete is of the opinion that you can only get the D3 wounds on models with multiple wounds. I understand where he is coming from on this but, I know it used to be the other way in the old system. I also counter with an arguement about how the damage is going to be worked out then. If you are saying only the number of hits can do wounds then there should only be armor saves for the number of hits not the number of wounds the weapon does. So if there is an armor save that fails you then apply the D3 wounds to multi-wound models with no saving throw? I personally don't think it can be both ways. Either you get saves cause the wounds are actually hits or you get to save the hits that wound and suffer unsaveable wounds later.
We would just like some input as to what other people have been doing. Nate said he has been playing the multi-wounding weapons like me for a long time as well. So this might be something that needs to be added to end of the season rules questions.
Thanks,
Noel
P.S. I hope this makes sense as it is stupid early and I am getting ready to make a 12 hour drive.

I a noob to the game so I could be wrong BUT in the past when I hit a one wound modle with a D3 damage weapon I didn't carry the extra wounds over into the rest of the unit. So I've been playing one hit = one kill.

Here is how it works for other weapons that do multiple wounds:
Model is wounded and rolls their relevant saves.
After all saves are rolled, then the weapon does d3 wounds for each failed set of saves. These wounds cannot be saved by Regeneration, Ward, Armor, or any other save unless their is a rule that specifies otherwise.
For Example:
Tyrion has 1+ Armor Save, Regeneration, and a 4+ Ward save. He is hit by your weapon 3 times. He rolls all his saves for each wound. After this, he has suffered 1 wound from your weapon. You would then roll a d3 to determine how many wounds that unsaved wound actually inflicts.
The wording for most armies that have weapons like this is: Each unsaved wound becomes d3 (or whatever) wounds. When a model has only one wound you don't roll.
Of course, it wouldn't be a GW game without an exception, and that is Challenges. Overkill is all about wounds inflicted, and it ignores rules pertaining to inflicting more than one wound on a one wound model. This means that your sword in a challenge would be pretty good.
See page 31 of the WFB rulebook for Multiple Wound Hits and page 76 for Challenges.
Edited to add example

I spent 69 gold of 70 in my draw with Noel.
It was a good game. I feel that the victory shifted back and forth between both armies throughout the battle.

It was a good game to watch. Noel was dead in the water by turn three and then things just turned around.

Conner and I played Chuck last night. It went badly for the Chuck. We massacred him. We used the last 60g of our gold on this fight and I believe Chuck used 16 or so. hordes win the day for us, that and poisoned throwing stars.

Chuck's bad luck continued. The High Elves pulled off a Massacre while only losing 7 models. My chariot's lions feasted on the Ogre general on turn 5. I spent 52 gold on the battle.

There are three games left. Harrison vs. Bryan, Drop vs. Bryan, and Drew vs. Chris. Since it looks like these games are not going to be done by Sunday, we should probably wait another week to have our next meeting.

Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday. I want to play this week. When are you available? How many points?
Kthx.

Well, I would prefer not to play on weekdays, and this weekend I have my Senior Prom, so Saturday I have to get all dolled up, should take all day, they have alot of work. And Sunday I work, so next Saturday would work unless you need to play on a weekday. We could work something out, I would just prefer not to.
And I echo Chuck's sentiment of fun. It was close and it was really nice to see a game not crumble before your eyes. I think I'll try to win some more now...

1500 points is about where I max out, so that.
And Chuck, I would say yes but I'm fairly sure that you wouldn't be able to find a dress anywhere...

There is a week 4 thread (finally) you may want to make sure the results you posted here are showing up there, too.
Chuck is about the only person that could rest their head on your shoulder during a slow dance, Harrison. I wouldn't be to quick to pass that up!
