Nate, next Thursday is good for me.  What time do you want to play?
Trius

I work until 4:30 so 5:00 works well
Sand

sounds good to me.
Blood Bowl Wizard

Pete,

I should be able to be at CHG for our game between 5:30-6:00 on Thursday. Sound good?

Yup, see you at 6:00PM at CHG.

Spending no money on my game with Postler.
Sand

I'm spending 152 gold on my game with Nate.
Blood Bowl Wizard

I played against Pete, and was lucky to get a draw. I learned today that if I want to win, I should always use a gyrocopter, organ guns suck just a little too much.
Sand

I get the big M from Nate tonight.  I learned that M is my least favorite letter.
vegeta7913

I"m using all 10,000 of my special gold against Droppie-pooh.  Oh wait...that's gold chocolate coins.  NVM

I also learned the valuable leason of properly applying one's "hammer" unit against an opposing unit they are sure to kill. Unbreakable trollslayers on the flank are not a good "nail". Also, using my extra 100 points turned into a liability when pumped into upgrades rather than more units.

I was surprised to not see the gyrocopter as well, it could have been trouble for my spider riders who got all up in your grill during our game. Oh well, I guess I'll see it now for sure the next time we play.

That was a good, tough game. I actually think we got all the rules right for once too.

does M stand for meatloaf?  i enjoy a good meatloaf.
Groomie

I think the "M" stands for "Manwich".
Groomie

I witnessed the Draw between Drop and Drew.
Groomie

I have decided to spend 1 gold on my list.
vegeta7913

Yuppers, Drop and I arrived at a draw, thanks to him staying on his side of the forest and me staying on mine.
Groomie

In a shocking turn of events Harrison's Empire Army was Massacred by the High Elves.
vegeta7913

LOL - harrison massacred?  Stop picking on n00bs Steve.
Pete

This sounds like an appropriately snooty comment for a high elf to me.
Groomie

Well, there were several drawn combats which I won when we decided to dice off to see who won the combat.

I did teach Harrison some effective lessons both during and after the game.  Unfortunately, WFB is NOT a game that can be taught through theory.  To be halfway decent at it you have to make mistakes and learn from them.

If I had really wanted to pick on the "noob", I would have taken "All or Nothing".  As it was, Harrison has already learned quite a bit and I had to work harder than I would have liked for victory.

As for being snooty, High Elves are not snooty.  They are arrogant.  Get it right, lower beings.
vegeta7913

So, you're picking on the noobs.  Its okay to admit it groomie.
Blood Bowl Wizard

Brian,

Can we play at my house on Tuesday? I need to watch my boy. I guess I'll call you tommorow.

Knox
Sand

no you didn't take All or Nothing, you took Scouts...  That's much better.
Bryan_Lord

I got no problem playing at your place.  5:30ish or so still?
Groomie

Scouts wasn't as huge in my game against Harrison as it would be against, say, Dwarves or maybe Skaven.  Harrison made a few deployment errors and some early game movement and shooting errors.

When someone takes all or nothing over most other events it is because they don't feel like they'll be challenged and their intended target is someone they can beat easily.

I didn't go into the game with the idea that I was going to beat Harrison because it would be easy.  I went in with units I never used before and with the idea that the game would be a good learning experience for him.

Dude, your Avatar Picture is FREAKING AWESOME!

vegeta7913

Jason,
most likely i will not be able to attend this sunday's meeting.  To let you know, with my 3 points (1 banked and 2 from the draw) i'll take the adjacent river tile and put a mine on it.
Drew B.
Blood Bowl Wizard

Ok, so Bryan just massacred me... But, Bryan I need to know how much gold you spent.

Steve, yes my avatar kicks ass.

Drew, sorry you can't be there, and you will have your tile with a mine.

weee,
Jason
Bryan_Lord

I used 35 of my 60
vegeta7913

Wow...how did you let dark elves beat you?
Groomie

The war machines did 4 kills over two turns.  Next time Knox should make the Cannon Balls flaming to get around stupid Hydra's Regenerate.
vegeta7913

yup, knox and his non-flaming balls.
Blood Bowl Wizard

I forgot that the hydra had regen, so I took all of the flaming weapons out of my list. My first draft had three of my five warmachines shooting flaming weapons.

In the end, Bryan had a better game plan, and a little luck. He earned the victory.

Any news on the Chris Cloud vs. Noel and Conner game?

Knox
Groomie

I heard that Sunday was when Chris would be available.  This leads me to wonder about forfeits.

First off, do we have a forfeit policy/rule?

I think that if a player forfeits their opponent should get 3 points.  I think 5 is too many to give for a forfeit, but I can see that as a possibility from a "game fluff" standpoint (i.e. The forfeiting army flees in the face of their opponent and are run down).

I feel that we should also have at least a loose definition of what constitutes a forfeit.  In the Chris C. vs. Noel game, Chris hasn't been communicative, which is bad.  He has a good reason, though, as his wife recently went in for a complex surgical procedure.  Does that mean Chris should suffer less because it was for a good reason?  Maybe.

Maybe if there is a family issue, or a health issue we should consider awarding 3 for each player.

I am just throwing these things out there.  I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks.
Blood Bowl Wizard

As long as there is no ducking of games, I think we should give an extra week if all of the games are not yet played. Sounds like Chris has had a couple of busy weeks, and we should give him a bit more time.

But in the future, I'm sure forefiets will happen and maybe 3 points for the winner is the right answer.

I agree.
Sand

I won't be at the meeting on Sunday.  I'll either be out playing airsoft (if anyone is interested in playing airsoft in the future let me know) or DnD at Lewis' house.  Either way I should be available for a phone call if I'm needed.

Groom is a cheater....
Blood Bowl Wizard

No meeting on Sunday, we will postpone it a week in order to let the final match get played.

Once again.

No Meeting this Sunday.

We will have our meeting on Sunday April 4th.

Noel/Connor and I are playing on Friday at 5pm.

I have been thinking about this.  The issue I have is when a person is challenged more than once.  Normally they would average their scores.  If they have a massacre and then a forfeit, they would lose two points.  If they got massacred and then got a forfeit they would only gain 1 point.

I think that the best solution where multiple challenges is concerned may be to either: award no points for the forfeited match or to adjust their score overall to a 3 regardless of their other games.

I am copying this thread to the house rules thread for further exploration.

Does this mean a Mighty Empires meeting will follow on Sunday?
Blood Bowl Wizard

Yes, we should have a meeting this Sunday.
