Ouch noone has some spare flamers laying about?
I got a box of the new sterngaurd models, which are really nice FYI, the codex has combi weapons available for really cheap... there's one major drawback to this though. The cheapest weapon: combi flamer for 5 pts, DOESN'T exist! (if it doesn, I am unaware of it, nor can I find it, other then chaos, go figure.) There are combi melta and combi plasma guns aorund, plastic ones from the SM commander sprue, and a couple of combi weapons from from the tactical squad or command squad I forget, and even the new sterngaurd box has a metal combi plasma, and a combi melta gun.
Still NO combi flamers, stupid GW model makers....
anyways, I have two spare flamers, well, not really two any more, since I have already cut them up in attempts to MAKE my own combi flamer. I just want to kit out most my squad with combi flamers. Great price for a good 1 shot weapon.

I was looking through the Space Marine Codex and the Sternguard, Eric, and I think that Combi-Flamers might not be optimal. Here is my thinking: They have an ammunition type that ignores cover saves. Now, you might not get as many hits in one turn, but you can start shooting a LOT earlier in the game. I think that you will see about the same amount of casualties there. I like the Combi-Melta for them because of the punch it offers against harder targets and vehicles.
