Rules Question - ITE Viserion vs. ITE Catelyn StarkSo, Jon and I ran into differing understandings during a game tonight. He had ITE Viserion out ("No attachments. Renown.
Response: After a challenge in which Viserion is participating resolves, kill all other non-Dragon participating characters. If the challenge was unopposed, Viserion claims 2 power.") On my side of the table was ITE Catelyn ("Response: After Catelyn Stark is declared as a defender, choose a participating character. For the duration of the challenge, that character does not count its STR.").
What would have happened if he had done a power challenge with just Viserion and I had defended with Catelyn, triggering her ability so Viserion did not count his strength. Since the he was now attacking for 0 strength would the challenge just have disappeared since you can't attack for 0? Or would I have won the challenge, but have to kill Catelyn because of Viserion's ability?

Cat would win the challenge and then die from Vis's ability. Just because Vis is reduced to 0 str doesn't mean he is dropped from the challenge.
Here's a similair example-
You attack with a 2 str dude and a 0 str dude with stealth & renown. You can use the stealth and claim renown if you win the challenge.
However, the 0 str dude can't attack on his own. He has to attack with someone else.

*sigh* I was so hoping that it would be the other option  I suppose I just got confused since if Viserion was the only attacker then once he doesn't count his streangth you're attacking for 0. If there had been another character attacking with him I wouldn't have had any question. But I suppose at the time the challege was initiated he was attacking for 8. Bah. I hate being wrong Thanks!
