Rogue Trader TournamentI'm sending in for a Rogue Trader Tournament.
We couldn't do one until Sun. Dec. 6th & 7th.
Named- Valhalla Iowa Party (VIP)
Points- 2000?
Cost- $10
4 Rounds
This stuff will make more sense to you guys!
STANDARD RULES FOR RTTS:
o You must use the same army list for each game.
o All models must be painted and based, meaning that all models are required to have at least three colors on them. At the bare minimum, bases must be painted if they are not flocked. If your models are not painted, they may not be used in the Rogue Trader Tournament.
o All models must be Citadel, Marauder, Fanatic, or Forge World models. Forge World models may only be used to represent entries from Codexes or Army books. Vehicles from the Imperial Armour book are not permitted.
o Rogue Trader Tournaments are for fun, and poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. You must conduct yourself in a manner that will not bring the hobby into disrepute. Conduct yourself as you would have your opponents conduct themselves.
o You may use Special Characters as long as they meet the specified requirements (e.g., you may not use a Special Character that is restricted to armies over 3,000 points or under 1,500 points if the tournament you are playing is using 1,850 or 2,000-point armies!).
o What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG). If you wish to use an item, it must be represented on the figure. Army list choices whose models aren't available must be converted. Remember, if you are in doubt about a conversion you have done, you probably shouldn't use it! We don't want you showing up with something you can't use!
o You must bring all materials needed to play including dice, measuring devices, templates, models, and any rules that you will be using.
o New Codexes or Army books - When a new Codex or Army book is published, you must use it if it comes out 1 month or more prior to the Rogue Trader Tournament. If the book comes out less than 1 month before the RTT, you can use either the new book or the exsiting book.
DEFAULT WARHAMMER RULES:
o Create an army of no more than 2,000 points with the standard restrictions found in each Warhammer Armies book (note: appendix armies will not be in use), Annual, Chronicles, or Ravening Hordes. The most recent rules for your army must be used.
o Warhammer Annual 2002, Warhammer Chronicles 2003, and Warhammer Chronicles 2004 will be in use with the following exceptions. Rules marked "Optional", "not official," "Trial Rules," or for the War of the Beard will not be in use.
Valid Warhammer Armies:
All armies must use the rules found in the Warhammer Army book. If there is an army whose army book has not been released, the most recent work in progress found in either Warhammer Chronicles or White Dwarf article will be used. If there is no such list you may use the list from Ravening Hordes (for you Chaos Dwarf players).
o The revised Lores of Magic are in effect.
o Dogs of War may be used as an army of their own or as a Rare selection per the standard rules for that particular army.
o Empire Steam Tanks from Warhammer Annual 2004 may be taken.
o Army variants from Storm of Chaos are permitted .

Fa-reeking-AWESOME!
So... I guess that means I've got a ton of painting to do to get my 2000 point Deathwing Army ready huh?
What's the deal with terrain for the tournament? Should I bring in my own set?

I haven't gotten all the info yet. However, we will need multiple table tops and terrain to run 8 games at once!

If you want I can talk to my club about using our tables. We have enough tables and terrain to run 10 tables at once. It will also might give us more of a reason to drive over from the Quad Cities.

Cool.
I was looking for more local reaction before advertising abroad. I guess the sooner the word gets out the better!

Feel free to either email, or PM me and we can talk about it in more detail. Also I have to check with the boss (Wife) but I might be able to come up if anyone wants to play a game of 40K on Sunday.

Now there's a reason to *finally* get a force built and painted...

Jerod,
Should I bring in my set of terrain for this? Are you going to do 2000 points for sure? I think 1500 points would be a lot easier for a lot of the newer players to do.
