reject rare draft?

I've read about this online, and think it would be cool to try out sometime if enough people were interested.

Basically, everyone who wants to participate brings in 45 rares that they're willing to part with. Sets don't matter, but try to avoid duplicates. Someone (I'd volunteer) takes all the cards randomizes them and splits them into packs of 15, then everyone meets and drafts just like normal, keeping the cards they drafted and playing each other for fun.

I would be down for this. It seems like it would also be a good idea to try to have some color variety for the rares. At least 2 of each color and no more than 4 of any one color would do that nicely.

Add me to the list of highly interested parties for this.

I've put my 45 together...the term "vomitous drek" comes to mind. This will be glorious.

Anyone know what the average distribution of creatures, artifacts, enchantments, instants, sorceries, & lands is for a given set on average (not counting sets like mirrodin/scoure that focused on one card type).  I'd rather not have everyone show up with 45 One With Nothings and would like to see some reasonable distribution.

At least 8 cards of each color, of which 6 are creatures sounds reasonable but maybe someone can tell me if that distribution is too far off base.   Also do we allow duplicate crap rares?  I have 5+ of some really junky rares that I never plan on playing in constructed and would use to start fires if I had a fireplace (Birgid, Hero of Kinsballe x6 anyone?).  Do we allow duplicates?

The lack of awful rare level removal spells should make games, well, interesting to say the least.

As long as people are including creatures at least 15ish creatures apiece (total) with some in each color, I think it should be ok. Your point about very little rare removal being "reject" level means that you could stand to have a lower % of creatures.

I think a maximum is more important than a minimum, personally. No more than 10 of one color (counting gold cards and color-aligned artifacts & lands (e.g. rakdos rite knife and soldevi excavations) as that color) will ensure that any imbalance in colors is fairly minor and balanced out by a load of artifacts to smooth the color issues.

OK, I now have 90 awful rares with a spread of colors, so now I can sponsor a cheapskate/noob for a reject rare draft.
