Here is what is going on for round #1. I will need some input from Jake.

We currently have 5 players in the campaign. They are Jake, Nate, Peter, Drew, and I. I hope to hear from Chris soon, so that he can join in. On Sunday we built the map, and placed our starting cities. We jointly selected a pretty good spot for Jake's starting city. I am assuming that Jake wants to play Empire, but he should let us know for sure...

During the events phase of round #1 Peter went first. Here are the events that were taken by those present.

Peter (orks and goblins): Land Grab
Nate (hordes of chaos): Scouts
Drew (Dwarfs): Elite Army
Jason (vampire counts): Diplomacy vs. Nate

Jake, You will need to chose from one of the remaining events. They are...

Disaster: Pick one player. They must roll a D6 for each castle, city or mine. On a roll of 1 the piece is destroyed. (Currently each player has one city)

All or Nothing: You receive an extra 2 empire points this round as long as you don't lose or draw any battles. If you lose or draw then you receive no empire points at all this round.

Here are the challenges that were issued after the events were resolved.

I think that Peter and Drew played their game later on Sunday afternoon.

I think that covers everything, I'm busy painting up the map. I should have it done later this week.

Drew stomped me good. The orcs will definately have the dwarven kingdom on their to-poop-on list now.

Chris, You and your opponent will agree to a size between the two of you.

Jake, We need to arrange a time, place, and size for our battle. I am available for games at my house in Iowa City on Weekday evenings, also I can often play a game at CHG in the afternoons on the weekend.

Unfortunately, as you all well know, the store is our of commision. the forums work alright so hopefully you can still spend the points you deserve. My house could work for a meeting place if nothing can be decided. (I hear Denny's has a great breakfast!)

Ok, So we need to get together this weekend to complete round 1, and start round 2. Most importantly Chris Cloud needs to stake his claim on the map.

Would Sunday afternoon work for everyone? Saturday afternoon or night could also be an option. I'd like to meet at my house, since CHG is closed for the moment. We could even play a couple of challenges afterward, maybe grill some food as well.

Hopefully your house will be reachable Jason. Last I heard they had closed the Burlington street bridge.. that would cut off us east-siders from you west-siders.

Maybe I could use my fig-case as flotation device?

I was able to make it across the Benton street bridge today on my roller blades. But that might not be open tomorrow. The main route between the two halves of IC is to take the Dodge street exit, and take I80 over to the Coralridge Mall.

I think I'm going to go and throw some sandbags later tonight.

The City of Iowa City is asking that everyone stay home unless it's essential travel. So, since the world won't end if we wait till next week for Might Empires I'm going to cancel today's events at my house.

Everything that belonged to me with one exception, I forgot the 6th edition paper building when I picked up my stuff... Oh well, it wasn't that cool anyway.

I have my Zuzzy mat with all my matching 40k terrain.

I also have my WFB hills, building and trees.

Round 1 update

So since we were not able to all get together on Saturday, and Chris Cloud was anxious to get involved, he came over to my place on Sunday and played a round 1 game.

He choose his starting position on the map, and his color (gold). His event was disaster, which I felt would only be fair if he used on me. He rolled a 4 on his dice and failed to destroy my city of the damned. Chris's challenge was against me. We played a 2000 point game.

I hope that nobody has any problems with the way that this was resolved, I know it was done out of round order.

Regardless, we need to get together this weekend in order to finish round 1, and start round 2. How about Saturday at noon?

saturday doesn't work for me at the noon hour, finishing up a game of history of the world - saturday after 4 or 5 would work - playing bb w/Lord on sunday at noon - so, after 4 on sunday would work for me
