How active is Fantasy Warhammer around here?I live in North Liberty just moved this July, and I've always liked fantasy Warhammer. I haven't gotten into it as of yet, but I'm just wondering what the pace is for games? Is this something that happens every weekend or just a couple times a month?
If there is a big enough base I'm thinking of joining and trying something new.

We have had a lot of people playing warhammer fantasy at times, and less at others. I'd say that right now, due to the football season, there has been less. We are looking to start up a new season of Mighty Empires (a WFB campaign) with a handful of players.
When that begins there will be a few games here and there in the store.
If you're interested in watching a game or setting up a game, you can always post a challenge here on the forums. That's probably the best way to get in touch with people.

I'd say its random as to how "busy" WHFB gets. 40k is really popular around these parts. I live in North Liberty as well... with 2 armies. So if you're wanting to try it out sometime let me know and I can try (it'd be hard) to gather both of my armies and bring them to the store.

I played before. One evening for a bday party we borrowed some armies from someones friends so about 2 of us went from playing to about 8...but I never had the money for it. I had sports and stuff.
I went and checked out both Battlezone and CHG tonight. CHG has more stuff, and more knowledgeable people from what I've gathered in my two times to CHG.
I'm definately interested... I guess it comes down to is I'm going to be building one army initially. I'm thinking one of the elves. When I got into it originally I was wood elfs...they are pretty weak and pretty rare to see people play them. Dak elfs would be my next thought...
I'm not much of a painter so looking for a army for sale wouldn't be out of the question for myself either.
Either way once I start I have a feeling I'll own about 2-3 armies and will have learned to paint for once in my life...

I am an occasional player, as I live out of town and have a young family, but if you ever end up in williamsburg (tanger outlet mall) I am always up for a game. I have 3 armies so if you come my way I can lend you one.

well I plan on getting in and watching a game or two if you guys don't mind. Its been awhile...
i suck at painting but guess I'll have to learn. I guess keep me posted when you guys are starting up

Well I'm the proud owner of some poor paintballers under-appreciated dwarf army. (mostly not painted nor assembled) I have about 130 units. Mainly dwarf warriors and thunderers.
Trying to figure out how I want to paint it. I really suck at painting though. So will have to see about assembling/painting it. Its alot to take in...

Well - all i can say about painting/assembling is ... pace yourself. I love assembling the figs, but i dont enjoy painting as much. But I will tell you, karma sets right and when you have painted minis, the dice gods are generally pleased.
