Chaos Theory vs. In Your Face, Lyons!

When are you free to play, Spencer?
SunDevil

Any word on this game?  I see this was posted over a week ago with no posted response...

Come on Spencer!  Groom's done his part, get this done so I know who I play in the playoffs!
Groomie

This game is set for around noon on Sunday.

I can't believe I'm saying this - GO ELVES!

Especially since, I think if the Elves win, I may play Chance and can knock him square out of the playoffs so he can go on his vacation with an easy mind.   Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

If the Elves win you are 99% likely to play Chance.  If Spencer wins you will almost certainly play Kaufman.

That was what I believed it would be.  Hence my reluctant, but whole-hearted endorsement of the...  *gulp* elves.   Laughing

I don't think that Chance or Kauffman are actually looking forward to playing you, Jason.  Regardless of my game against Spencer, I hope you win the whole damn thing.

I'm not going on vacation - I'm going to WORK.  Okay, it's a fun job but still a job!

The vacation will be planting dwarves in the ground before I go.  Or Chaos, whatever.
Kaufmann

Now that we know how to spell Chris' name, I thought I'd give you an update on the game.

Spencer took two special team cards and they were pretty awesome.  He killed my move busted lineman and badly hurt one of my wrestle linemen.  I slopped a badly hurt with my big lineman, and my Sneaky Git put a Serious Injury (Miss only) on a beastman.  I kicked to Spencer in the first half, and there was a lot of scrumming for the ball.  He decided to score on his turn 6, and stopped me from scoring due mainly to my signature bad luck with skill rolls.  Spencer also seemed to have terrible dice luck with armor breaks, even with Mighty Blow.

The second half went a little better for me, even though there was a riot to start things off.  I scored in two turns despite the Dogged Defense card, which forced me to blow a re-roll on a block.  That card lets your pieces keep their tackle zones even if they are prone (not if they are stunned, though).

The game got really interesting on Spencer's turn 3.  I pressed him pretty hard and his dice luck for skills started to match my own.  On my part I had a spectacular play for #9, who dodged out of a box of beastmen for a 4, 4, 2, then sprint twice and picking up the ball in a tackle zone for a 3.  Later on, Spencer would put on a string of rolls that kept me and the others on pins and needles...Eventually, I got the ball away from his main ball carrier and was able to shovel a pass from one of my catchers to another and he was able to break away.  I scored on my turn 8 of the second half to go up 2-1.

Spencer then played his second card, I can't remember the name, only that it lets you sprint as many times as you want, the difficulty going up each time after the second sprint.  This meant he could one turn score for overtime.

He had to make 7 sprints to get into the endzone.  His last two would be for 6's.  My guts twisted into knots as he rolled the first, second, third, fourth, FIFTH successfully (we were BOTH out of re-rolls at this point) and then his luck turned sour and he failed on the sixth sprint.

The game was super close, and unfortunately I think that this means that Tim gets to go to the playoffs.

I look forward to playing this team again next season.  I think that I have tentatively planned to play Brian L for our pre-season game for next season.

Go Wood Elves!
Vitamin T

With the last regular season game in the books all of the playoff matches are now set.

The Care Bear Stares vs The Long Claw of the Law
The Orcade vs The Tavern Regulars
The Blue Beastman Group vs Fraggle Rock
Le Philosphie Vert vs The Mighty Ducks

I will post a write up on week 10 and the other post season stuff soon.
