Battle of the Bulge
The Ardennes Offensive took place from the 16th December 1944 through the 25th January 1945. It was the last major German offensive of the 2nd World War. This January is the 63rd anniversary of the offensive. More can be read about the offensive at Wikipedia.

For this event I propose the following rules:
Each player should bring a standard army build of 100 points and no more then 15 units of either German or Allied forces. Ideally if a player can bring a build of both, that would be great.
No units with a year later then 1944.
Germans may use German units only.
Allies may use any combination of either US or UK units.
DCI floor rules should be in effect with an exception made for the maps. Players may use whatever maps they wish, not the mandatory small-hex maps. I think that it should be noted that the Expanded Rules are not a part of the DCI floor rules and should therefore not be used. This includes Platoon Cards. This is to keep things simple for new players.
The rules can be found here:
http://wizards.com/dci/downloads/AAM_FLR_18aug06.doc
Players should be aware of important unit card errata such as the recost of the SS-Panzergrenadier and Ranger units to 7 points.
Lets get the ball rolling and rumble in the Ardennes!

Thanks Pete for the info. I think we can really make this work. Now we just have to find the mini-military clubs that are in the area.

Me too, it'd be great if we could get a big turnout!
One other thing I forgot to add to the DCI rules amendments. Normally players can play Allied on Allied battles in a tournament, that would definately not be in the spirit of this event. That is why its suggested that players bring a build for both sides so that can play either. Perhaps we should rule that Allied may only fight Axis and vice versa.

Hey All,
I'm just starting to "get into" A&A minis. I live in Eldora, (central IA), so Tuesday nights are difficult for me to get your way. Are you planning on having any of these events on the weekends? In Ames, Mayhem runs a Flames of War on Sundays, but I'd like to stick to just A&A right now. Thanks and good luck tonight, wish I could be there.
