A few Questions1. If i give a hero an item that gives him first strike does he lend that skill to the unit?
2. If i have a 9 move character on foot is he allowed to join a mounted unit?
3. I remembered. If me and Jim Bob are playing a 1k point game and i have 1k gold to use for the game can i use the 2k point stuff, ie. can i get a lord.
answers would be much appreciated.

No, only the character gets this ability unless the item specifially says that it grants it's powers to the unit (like a magical banner).

He may join the mounted unit but then the unit moves that the lowest speed of anything in the unit. Therefore if the cavalry unit normally moved 7, the unit would move 7 with the 9 moving character in it.

I'm pretty sure that there is a rule about Alter Kindred and joining units...and here it is:
Alter Kindred characters may not be the army general, nor may they join units. It's in the Alter Kindred description.

on #3 - i believe in the mighty empires setting, you're only allowed to use a max of 200 gold pieces per match...Jason?
