Strategic Ops appears to continue CGL's streak of producing great core books for BattleTech. These are some of the nicest-looking game books on the market, too. Strat Ops has a nearly complete mass-combat game system in it too--the revised version of BattleForce.
I peeked at the new Shadowrun book, also by CGL. I remember buying the paperback when the game first came out and liking the setting and ideas, but I never ended up playing it. ('Twas true with many RPGs for me.)
