5 Kings Top 5s!In the 5 Kings set there are 27 cards for each house. 9 of them are rare. WE're only going to explore the commons and uncommons reasoning that they are the only ones that we will consistantly see.
Rating the top 5 of each card in each house makes us better drafters. Here's how...
It's the 4th pick of the draft. You see someone has passed you Desert Assassin, Robert Baratheon, Yronwood Spies and the rest of the deck is hamlets. What are the people telling you? What do you take?
By ranking the top 5 commons/uncommons of each house + top 10 neutrals we'll find out!

I'll assume that we're talking about the top cards for draft here. I'd probably say:
1. Mace's Bannermen
2. Robert
3. Tarth
4. Stannis
5. Fiery Shrine
While making my opponent's characters lose strength is good, I'd rather pump mine up, especially since Baratheon doesn't have the "killed if 0" clause of Targ burn. Stannis is good if you get him early enough to collect plots to use, and if you're willing to pass of other characters and such in order to take plots. The cost/strength and renown are really good though. I think Robert is a bit more useful without planning ahead. And Mace's Bannermen rock. Vigilent is an awesome keyword.

I haven't played with Bara too much in draft (I wonder why that is Kari?) so I don't know Mace's Bannermen too well. I'm going to defend the Fiery Shrine based on the idea that it can nullify challenges from guys that are 2 str or lower.
You're right with Robert and Stannis. If it's pack three Robert is the better pick, If it's pack one then I'll take Stannis because I know I can build off of him.

I havn't played Greyjoy in draft, but they do have two of my hate draft cards (Bringer of the Storm and Whirlpool - even if I don't use them I don't want to see them on the other side of the table). No question about your number one though. Those guys rock in draft. I'm ify on Qarl. She's nice and a good way to get rid of attachments you don't like, but she just doesn't wow me. The intimidate keyword is nasty, so I'd definently but the Ironborn Enforcers up. Euron is fun - the war crest and deadly. Not to mention he's a king so he cancels others abilities and if there's no other king in play he can help keep it that way, which deprives your opennents of high strenth characters. I think I'd replace Qarl with Navel Support - unopposed challenges are fun and it makes you're oppenent think twice about playing events.
1. Bringer of the Storm
2. Ironborn Enforcers
3. Whirlpool
4. Euron
5. Navel Support

I don't like putting attachments on there if can help it however, Naval Support pretty much beat me in the last draft. I just couldn't stop the unopposed!

Martell1. Red Viper
2. Darkstar
3. Quentin
4. Desert Assassin
5. Stolen Crossbow
So many good Martell cards to draft!!

No Cersi? She seems amazing early (once again going on the idea of first pack). So I guess I can see her drop some. I guess I'd put Gregor under the same circumstances though as well.

Bara
I guess I don't like the bannerman as much as you guys. Mostly because they get pwned by Arya and don't really have a great cost/str ratio.
1. Robert
2. Host of Evenfell Hall
3. Tarth
4. Stannis
5. Brienne
The last 2 are just there because I can't pick the host 2 more times.

Stark1. Eddard, a thousand times Eddard!
2. Arya
3. Like Warm Rain!
4. Jon Snow
5. Frozen Fighters
Stark is arguable at slots. I really like icy helm as well.

Eek! You're going too fast! All right, Lannister:
1. Ser Gregor
2. Widow's Wail
3. Red Cloaks
4. Castamere
5. Vat of Wildfire
Gregor is awesome, mostly because I'm a Stark player at heart and love killing things. I don't know, but I'm not really that impressed by Stannis, Cercei or Robb. I know claim raise/lower is awesome, but I can't get worked up about them. Widow's Wail - card draw, what more do I need to say. Non-kneeling is just about as cool as killing things. Castamere - a relatively safe place (in the current draft environment at least) to store your power
and get more moneys. As for Vat, I do admit that it's a potentially dead card in your hand, but when you use it to lock down whirlpool, Executioner's Block or one of the pump cards, it's wonderful. Something that I want, just in case.

MartellAll right, Martell:
1. Red Viper
2. Darkstar
3. Desert Assasain
4. Stolen Crossbow
5. Quenten or Collector of Favors. I can't quite decide. Steeling armies is fun, but the Collector of Favors can potentially shut down Arya.
So, the first two, no question. They rock big time. Desert Assasain may not kill people, but making your oppenent pay for them again is pretty good. And how have I been missing Stolen Crossbow? I swear I must have never read it when it came around. That's pretty awesome.

My House (Stark)So, right off the bat I have to admit something. I don't like 5 Kings Eddard. I mean he's cool and very Nedly, but he doesn't fit my playstyle. I'm too slow of a player to use him well. The few times I've used him I'll get real close, 13, 14 power and then *poof* the 6th plot rolls around and I'm at 7 or 8. No fun. I'll stick to ITE Eddard. That being said my list is:
1. Arya (killing things)
2. Frozen Fighters (killing bigger things)
3. Like Warm Rain (killing more things)
4. Cold Steel (making them kill their things for you)
5. Snow Castle (yay, more streangth!)
And I know we're doing top 5, but I have to mention two more Stark cards that I find very useful:
6. Winterfell Hot Springs (deck manipulation)
7. Winterfell Tutor (but only if you have Winterfell Hot Springs - they work together wonderfully)

I totally agree with the Hot Springs combo. I've seen it enough times to start groaning!
I'll definately give you Vat just like the Greyjoy attachment for zero is silly good in this enviroment of non-attachment hate!

Targ1. Ser Barriston
2. Spear Brigade
3. Flame Kissed
4. Hired Sword
5. Khal Drogo
Targ isn't real strong in draft but that makes it an attractive option sometimes! The ambush common dragons just aren't that good. I've had success with Targ before using Loyal Steed. It impressed me enough to mention it.
This leads to another mini-topic. Aside from Flame Kissed it seems you can always splash Targ with the Mart/Targ sea.

Nuetral1. Riders from Eastwatch
2. Woodland Bandits
3. Highground
4. Kings & Queens
5. Breaking & Entering
So many marginal cards that can be amazing with the right synergy. I like Parting Blow for a filler card. And I'll rate Gendry much higher if I score an Icy Helm.
