CHG is pleased to present...

Painting, Modeling & Terrain Building Classes

Sun. March 8th
Intro Figure Painting
cost $5

Intro to figure painting is a beginner level class to help people who are interested in learning basics for enjoying a fuller experience of the miniatures hobby.  The lessons from this class are intended to give people a solid foundation which they can expand upon in future classes.  Below is list of things that will be covered during the class:
- Assembling your figure.
o Cleaning your figure of mold flash.
o Tools that you will find useful for putting your models together
o Putting your figure together and using the correct adhesive to do so.
- Priming your figure
o Why you need to prime your figure.
o What primers do you want to use?
o What color primer do you want to use?
o How to use the primer correctly and safely.
- Painting your figure
o Picking your colors from paints that are currently available on the open market.  To start we will avoid mixing or creating our own colors.
o Base coating your figure how to and why it looks like a three year old just slopped paint on it.
o Paint in the shadows how to make it more solid.
o Paint in the highlights to bring it to life.
o Adding basic details
- Finishing your figure
o What kind of sealer do you want to use?

The intro to painting class is open to people of all levels of painting skill.  We encourage people who have been painting awhile to attend to help other people find the joy of painting they have.  This is an introductory class as such all the paints, water cups, and tools to assemble your figures will be provided at the store.  For those people who are looking to just try out this hobby to see if it is for them we will even be providing figures to be painted.

If you have your own figure you would like to paint, please feel free to bring it.  The same will be said for tools or paint brushes.  There will be brushes available at the store, but not being sure how many may attend it could slow down the class if we have to share brushes.  So if you have some we encourage you to bring them.

Sign up in the store!
Next class will be March 29th on the topic of modeling.
