Post subject: Fido movie review
5 out of 5 Light Cycles

Brilliant. Simply brilliant. Back in the 50's the world fought the zombie wars. We won. And we tamed them. They are our butlers, milk men and occasional door stop. However, the mysterious radiation cloud still covers the earth so, whenever someone bites it, BAM, zombified. Until the mega corporation ZOMCON slaps a 'taming' collar on you your diet consists of human flesh. Cause, it's just in your nature.

Fido follows the adventures of Timmy. Think of Leave it to Beaver but with living corpses. Timmy finds himself relating more with his families newest zombie addition, Fido. The movie explores humanity and family relations with a shlocky 50's reverb. As Timmy's only friend Fido finds himself observing the tensions between his father, mother and nosy neighbors.

Billy Connely (teacher from Head of the Class) expresses himself wonderfully with zero lines. However, i've never seen a zombie emote as well as this one. Katherine Ann-Moss (Matrix, dur) plays the house wife trapped by her emotionless husband. The acting is superbly over the top. There just isn't anyway a film about pet zombies can take itself too seriously which becomes it's charm. There is a small playboy role played by Tim Blake Nelson (Oh Brother Where Art Though fame) that really puts some of the heart into Fido.

One of my favorite exchanges- Enjoy the flick!

Bill Robinson: Well, she is over sixty-five, Helen, and old people can't be trusted.
[to Mr. Bottoms]
Bill Robinson: Ain't that right?
Mr. Bottoms: Yeah, we've had a lot of trouble with old people.

This movie is FAN-TASTIC.

I am a big zombie fanatic.... so I had really low expectations going into seeing this film... but it is pure genius.
