Post subject: D&D 4.0 RPGA LFR
Looking for a people interested in playing, or even trying out -

D&D 4.0         First Saturday each Month, starting April 4th, 12;30pm to 5pm

What will happen is that one or two people will be running RPGA Living Forgotten Realms (LFR) modules at Critical Hits on the first Saturday Afternoon of each month.  (Should have room for up to 6 people.)  Characters run in these mods have to be RPGA legal. (ie. They need to be created using RPGA LFR method and leveled up in LFR mods.)

First couple of months we do this the mods run will just be for character levels 1 through 4.  The mods are a self contained story that run around 4 hours long.  This means you do not have to attend every gameday.

First Game Day for this will be Saturday, April 4th.  Start time 12:30pm.  Will be there around 12pm to help with anyone that needs some help with character creation.

So if you think you might be interested in playing some D&D 4.0.  Come show up and we’ll see if we can get you into a game.

------------------------------------------------------------------

RPGA info

Character creation guide lines can be found here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lfrx/characters
or you can follow this simplified version of it.

Races: Any races found in the PH, PH2, & the FRPG.

Classes:  Any classes found in the PH, PH2, & the FRPG (not SpellScared).

Stats: Method 2 found on page 17 of the PH.  22 point buy with starting array of 8,10, 10, 10, 10 , 10.

Feats: All from D&D 4.0 sources.

Weapons: All from D&D 4.0 sources.

You will need to fill out a DCI Card.  This is to help keep track of your characters and allows you access to RPGA materal.

Log Sheets – Will be supplied.  This is to keep track of which mods your character has played and what loot he picked up from the mod.  You can play the same mod more then once.  You just have to play it with a different character.

Loot Rules:  You can only loot 1 magic item per level from the mods.  It takes around 3 mods to level so pick your item you want to loot with care.  You can purchase magic items (up to your level) from all the books with the gold you find in the mods.

Any questions you can post here or email me at mavik@mchsi.com

Keep me posted, I'd like to try out the other classes that interest me (tried Infernalock and currently play a assaulting swordmage in a campaign).

Would we need to stick to the same character, or would this be more like Delving?

We're playing again this Saturday May 16th at the Union in Iowa City.

Start time is at 10 am on the 3rd floor.

We'll be running characters level 1 through 4.  So if you haven't played a RPGA mod before you can make up and run a 1st level character with no problem.

The mods are more like a string of mini-campaigns which your character advances through.  They are self contained stories which might lead to plot hooks for other mods as your character advances.

Mods usually have 1 ro 2 skill challengs and 2 or 3 fights.  Tha whole mod takes around 4 hours to play.  We will be playing 2 mods this Saturday.  First starts at 10am and second around 2pm.  You can play both mods or if time's limited, can play just 1.

Characters use the 22 point buy system and start with 100 gold.  You would advance this character as he levels and have the chance to pick up items & gold which you can then spend on *stuff*.
