Post subject: 4th Edition D&D game looking for a few good players!
Our group just finished a 4 year homebrew campaign using a 3.5/Arcana Evolved/Iron Heroes hybrid rules set, and the majority of players would like to continue in that homebrew world but we're anxious to do so with the new 4th Edition rules set. We're going to start with 1st level PCs and with the last campaign leveled about every third session.

I have been DMing for the last 6 years, since version 3.0 was released. Over that time we've had several people join the group who left when they moved out of the area. Currently we're looking for 2-3 additional players (bringing the total to 5-6) to join us one weeknight each month (typically has been Wednesdays). We're all in our 30s & 40s and tend to rotate between homes in the North Liberty/Coralville area to host the game; we all pitch in to cover pizza or dinner costs.

If you're interested please post here so I can get in touch with you and answer any questions you have. Thanks!

Scott

Hey, my name's Brandon. I've been looking to start or join a 4th ed DnD group, so if you wouldn't mind someone half your age playing, i'd be up for it =]

I've played 3.5 a few times and really enjoyed playing. I've also tried DM'ing but I don't have much exp, so I'd rather be a PC. I have the 4th ed PHB and unlike most other gamers i know, i'd rather try it out before deciding if it's junk or not, lol

anyway, contact if interested

I've only played 4E a couple of times (demos at the store), but I definitely enjoyed the new rules. If your still looking for a new player, I'd be happy to join. Just send me an e-mail.

Cool! I've got messages out to you both; the former using this board, the latter with an email directly.

Still looking for one more if anyone else would like to start right at the beginning with us here in a few weeks.

Thanks!

Post subject: Still looking for players?
So my brother and I are interested in joining a group to play 4e DnD. We have played 3.5 DnD and Star Wars RPG. I know this post was awhile ago at this point but was still checking to see if you needed players or want more at this point. My e-mail address is michaeljamesdavison@gmail.com

Hey, Malric! I tried emailing you with the address you posted but it bounced back as undeliverable. I just noticed your post today, sorry about that. I wonder if the subscription email got spam-filtered or something.

We're currently full at 7 players but since we only play every other Wednesday some of the players have been wishing for a weekly game. I've been considering starting another group on the opposite every other Wednesday but I don't know if my schedule (or my wife! Wink ) will accommodate that. Still, I'm considering it and would expect a couple of my current players to join as well.

If you or anyone else looking at the thread is interested, please email me at:
drspunj@yahoo.com

Again, I'm not sure this is going to happen but if we have a number of people interested I'd seriously like to try!

Thanks!

Hi. I know that this is really late to even ask, but is there any way i could join a group?  I have never played dungeons and dragons before and would really like to, i would even come and watch people play for a while if i could.  I currently live in Iowa City right next to north liberty, but am moving to Cedar Rapids this summer.  I still could easily come back to play.  I have an imagination that is unending and would add lots to a group. If you have any ideas email me at jonberger1989@gmail.com.
Thanks a ton, Jon

Hey, frankie!

As I said in the post above yours, we're currently sitting well with 7 players. The Player's Handbook 2 is coming out this week and I've been toying with getting a second group going, as I posted previously to Malric, but I haven't got enough dedicated time right now to make that happen.

I'd still like to, and I want to look at WotC's Dungeon Delve book to see if that would allow me to run some sessions without a lot of prep time that would still be challenging and would allow players to try out various class/race combos they're interested in tooling around with a bit but don't have time for a complete campaign or anything.

I was personally trying to do that with the weekly D&D Game Night sessions that were at Critical Hit Games on Thursday nights but that's a bad night for me most weeks and I was only ever able to attend the first one. I don't honestly know if those are still going but if they are that would be a great place to see D&D 4e in action if you have the time!

If I do work things out for a monthly session of something similar I'm going to come back here and email those who've posted in the thread for a chance to join so you may hear from me in the future!

Thanks for the interest!
