As far as Larping goes there is a CAM game (vampire) that meets every 4th Saturday at 7 at the IMU building Iowa City, last time I checked. Though this might have changed. There is also an Old world of Darkness game, every 2nd Saturday of the month, and they also play Werewolf. I've only heard a vague time for those games at 12 noon.

I've been trying to find players interested in a Parlor Larp, which are one shot games, or a Cthulhu game.

If you are looking for a boffer Larp, there is an Amtgaurd troupe that makes in City Park Iowa City on Sundays.
Nero Chicago, 3 hours away but an excellent game. And there is another Nero game starting this summer (rumors) in DeMonies. I just moved here too about a year ago and trying to get things together. Crazy!
